Between two coasts.
BELDI began as a conversation between two places · the open, modernist quiet of Los Angeles, and the humid, unhurried glamour of a Brazilian coastline in the 1980s.
We wanted to make one thing, and to make it slowly. A heavyweight essential that carries the weight of a long-remembered garment.
Made by hand,
down to the last detail.
Every BELDI piece passes through hands, not assembly lines. The fabric is cut one panel at a time, on the cutting table, and each panel is inspected before a single seam is sewn. The seams themselves are sewn slowly, by people who have done this for decades. Each hem is finished raw · cut clean and left unfinished. The beaded drawstring is strung and finished entirely by hand · each knot tied, each bead set, one garment after another.
Nothing here is rushed, and nothing is automated beyond what a needle and thread demand. A single piece can take a full day, sometimes longer. It is slower, it is more difficult, and it is the only way we know to make something worth keeping.
Few, on purpose.
Each collection is produced in a deliberately limited run. Not as a tactic · as a consequence. When every garment is finished by hand, there is only so much that can exist at once.
We make what we can make well, and then we stop. Each color arrives in limited quantity, and each run takes time. What you own remains yours, and rare by design.
Craft.
Cut by hand, sewn slowly, finished one piece at a time. We choose slowness over scale.
Scarcity.
Limited runs. What hands cannot produce in quantity, we refuse to fake.
Permanence.
We design for the decade, not the season. Pieces that outlast their trends.
